Gardening for Life: the Biodynamic Way by Maria Thun. Thun was an authority on biodynamics and dedicated her life to the research and application of biodynamic principals. She recognized how cosmic energies influence the germination of seeds and growth of plants. She created the Biodynamic Compound Preparation recipe to support the life of the soil and the vitality of plants and crops. Gardening for Life is fully illustrated in color, with helpful instructions, an index, and follow up information.
Gardening with the Moon & Stars by Elen Sentier brings biodynamics to the ordinary gardener. Elen Sentier is passionate about biodynamics. She feels it’s vital to make organics and biodynamics available to as many people as possible if we are to help our earth cope with the increasing demands we humans place upon her. Biodynamics is easy, simple, cheap and super-effective; it's seriously good horticulture too, and it works in whatever size of garden you have, from a window box to several acres. This book is written in plain down-to-earth language with lots of tips and hints to help you learn how easy it is to use the preparations and work with the biodynamic planting calendar.
By Sherry WildfeuerRudolf Steiner lectured on agriculture in 1924 at the request of a group of farmers who already appreciated his contribution to the understanding of human nature, education, medicine, science, art, religion and more. The insights and practices from his Agriculture Course, known as Biodynamics, have been taken up by farmers and gardeners worldwide.
Steiner pointed to the cosmic influences from the sun, moon, planets and stars as important factors to work with in agriculture. Then he challenged his listeners to develop a new science of timing for seed sowing to replace the old proverbs. Considerable research has been done, notably by German biodynamic farmer Maria Thun since the early 1950s, and the Stella Natura charts largely reflect her observations and conclusions. The calendar is meant to be used with common sense and an eye to the weather. The charts assist you in choosing optimum times to sow seeds, transplant, cultivate your crops and harvest them for storage. There is also room each day to keep gardening notes.Dimensions are 9” x 12”Weight is 6 oz
